There is almost a cartoon portrayal of obsessive compulsive disorder in the news.  This very real ailment is painted in terms of eccentricities and comical situations.  Almost anyone can conjure up an image of an unkempt looking person repeatedly washing their hands, flossing their teeth, or counting the steps to the bathroom.  While it would be easy to chuckle and move on, this is not an option if you suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder.  Causes range from societal factors, childhood issues and stress levels.  Knowing the specific causes can go a long way towards the ultimate goal of reestablishing wellness.
