It’s actually not that OCD and anxiety are combined, it’s that OCD is caused by anxiety.
When you have panic attacks and you have OCD you can fairly consider this a combination of the two.
I know because I used to have major anxiety and that is what caused my OCD as I was more prone to worrying about things but I find that the cure for OCD is almost the same thing as OCD.
You have to know that anxiety is just the fear of fear itself and that there are better ways to react to situations other than cowering in a dark corner somewhere so to speak.
OCD is caused by a fear, which causes anxiety, which causes OCD.
What we all need to realize is that when the two disorders are combined, the same treatment can be effective for both.
I’ve been saying this for a while and it seems that the medical field may be slowly catching on. Massive exposure or flooding exposure to something that causes anxiety to the person may seem tough, but when they come out of it alive, they may never have that fear again. Although it needs to be done right or the situation could be made worse than it already is.
Take action: Talk to a professional to find out if you have anything else besides OCD, if you do, you’ll want to make sure that you get that treated right away. However if you find out that you have just anxiety and OCD then what you can do is use mental exercises to get rid of both simultaneously and that is by exposing yourself to the things that frighten you in small doses at first, the gradually increase, although flooding yourself with a major exposure may be the fastest and most effective method. It’s akin to jumping into the pool and getting it over with, than keep dipping your toe in the water slowly.
